Problem: "Error, tCombo6.ocx failed to register.  HRESULT -2147023898.  Contact your support personnel. ".  1-03-07

CAUSE - AOL Free Security Suite software prevents custom program selection box from registering on Windows XP PCs. 

RESOLUTION

Uninstall Free AOL Security Software and use any other product to include Norton Antivirus, Internet Security Suite, MAcafee, Panda, ETC.  PC Tools offers a Free antivirus product comparable to AOL Security suite that does not cause this error and can be downloaded from  http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/?ref=google_free

 

Problem: "Error, Cannot Export Reports.  12-05-06

CAUSE - Missing ExportModeller.exe in 3.0.69 release. 

RESOLUTION

Download and install latest service update (http://www.htparks.com/srvpatch.zip) and then manually register the ExportModeller.exe utilizing the following command:
 

Run the following command from the command prompt (Click Start, then Run from task bar)

 
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin\ExportModeller.dll"
 
You should receive a message informing you that the ExportModeller has been successfully registered.
 

 

Problem: "Err Msg: Invalid TLV record" when previewing or printing reports.  

CAUSE - Microsoft Windows automatic program updates prevents Crystal Reports 9 from creating path registry key.

RESOLUTION

NOTE: Always use caution when editing registry.

1. On the taskbar, click the 'Start' button, and then click 'Run'.

2. Type 'Regedit' in the 'Open' combo-box, and then click 'OK'.

3. Expand the registry key:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crystal Decisions\9.0\Crystal Reports

4. Right-click the 'Crystal Reports' folder, select 'New' | 'String Value', and name the new key 'CommonFiles'.

5. Right-click the 'CommonFiles' subkey, select 'Modify', and type the following value in the 'Value data' text box:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin\"

Problem: "DLL Error when using Combobox selection on Windows XP platforms". 

CAUSE - Microsoft automatic updates causes msado25.tbl to be deleted for software publishers running Non-Microsoft programs.

RESOLUTION

1.  Turn off Microsoft automatic updates. 

Turn Off Automatic Updates

1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then press ENTER.
2. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to select Turn off Automatic Updates.
3. Click OK.

 

2.  Download and install latest SBMPro service patch or full product version.

 

Problem: "Invalid Registration Number".

How To Register Your SBMPro Product

 

Problem: "failed to access control "VB.user control". 

CAUSE - VB Combo Selection Box Update

RESOLUTION

Paul, their is a code update on the Selection Box.  The only way to resolve this issue is to Backup your existing SBMPro data directory by copying the directory to another folder location as follows:
Step 1 (Backup Data Directory)
Copy  C:\Program Files\SBMPro\Data   C:\SBMProBackup\Data
 
Step 2 (Uninstall SBMPro and all service updates)
Uninstall the SBMPro program by going to "Add/Remove" Programs and removing the SBMPro 2005 entry and all service update SBMPro or Small Business Management Pro entries. 
 
Step 3 (Download and install latest Full Product version)
Then download and install the latest full product version from or main web site or by clicking the following URL:
 
http://www.htparks.com/sbmpro.zip 
 
Install the full product to the default "C:\Program Files\SBMPro" directory
 
Step 4 (Restore Data Directory)
Finally you must restore you backup copy of the data by reversing the process in step 1
 
Copy  C:\SBMProBackup\Data   C:\Program Files\SBMPro\Data
 

Turn off Microsoft automatic updates. 

Turn Off Automatic Updates

1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then press ENTER.
2. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to select Turn off Automatic Updates.
3. Click OK.

 

Problem: ItCombo6.ocx failed to register Error

Error 1904.  Module C:\Windows\system32\itCombo6.ocx failed to register.  HRESULT -2147023898.  Contact your support personnel.

CAUSE - Possible Microsoft Automatic Update

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, perform the following:
1. Backup your existing "..\SBMPro\Data" folder.

2.  Uninstall the current SBMPro Version and all service updates from the Add/Remove Programs icon within the control panel.  Remove all SBMPro references installed

3.  Download and install the latest version (3.0.70 or greater).

4.  Restore your backup copy of the "..\SBMPro\Data" folder to the default install directory (Overwriting the existing (NEW) Data directory.  This step will restore your old data files to the new directory.

 

ERROR STILL UNRESOLVED

Verify that all security program are uninstalled.  Some security programs like AOL Security, may prevent certain ActiveX controls from registering properly.  To avoid this problem, disable security before installing program and re-enable security after program is successfully installed. Some users reported having to completely remove the Safety & Security with AOL and restarted the computer.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Warning for Non Microsoft Business Software!!!

Question. Why do I receive the Publisher Cannot Be Verified Error?

Answer:  This is a new Windows XP Service Patch 2 warning error created by Microsoft for all downloaded software that is not developed by Microsoft.

System Slowness or Problems Installing Program

Windows 98a and Windows ME systems may require MDAC_TYP 2.5sp3. A typical indication that MDAC 2.5sp3 is required is if SBMPro won't install or the program is unusually SLOW.  MDAC_Type 2.5sp3 can be downloaded direct from Microsoft.com or by entering the following link URL in a standard web browser:
